In litracy we have been writing animal reports from Orana Park. I chose to do a giraffe, we started off by going to Orana park, then we we got back we started writing our plan, we got to the point where it was time to start writing our reports. Adobe Spark Orangutan Report

 

In Writing we are doing orangutan reports. We had to make an adobe spark website of orangutans, if you wanna see mine tap on the photo and press the link. My report has lots of facts about orangutans and paragraphs of diffrent things. i got my information from national geographic kids and google. Save Wildlife - Minecraft Sanctuary

 In Literacy we are learning on the impact the humans can have on wild animals. This week we have been looking at chimpanzees and our task was to make a Minecraft sanctuary on what the chimpanzees could survive on. Chimpanzees have been found as pets and they have been sold which is illegal. 

We have researched about their habitat and what food they eat and how they entertain themselves. I have included my sanctuary in the gap below

The reading where we have go our information is from videos that we watch on TVNZ on demand.

Do you ever think about how you can make an impact? or if you could stop using palm oil?

If no one wants to make an impact our chimpanzees could be gone, they are endangered and they dont have much time left.

I find this task fun because we get to learn about orangutans and how we are killing their homes by buying products with palm oil. War letter to Wendy

 

This term in litracy we have been learning about refugees and world war 1. We had to create a war letter back home to our *loved ones* and I decide to do *my wife* and I'm the husband sending a letter back to her. Do you have any family members that was in the war like great grandparents or great great grandparents?

Caesar The Red Cross Dog

Caesar was born a normal dog, but he also felt a long way from home and some might say homesick. Before Caesar could start he was taken to a battleground that had previously been battled on to get a picture of what it would look like. When Caesar started he had bandages and a red cross painted on his back to let people know he was a red cross dog.

Caesar had helped in many ways - one way was taking possessions from the wounded back to Tom.

Many people had missed their pets back at their home, so many people loved having Caesar around.

Caesar knew he wasn't able to bark because I could signal to Tom that someone was wounded.

Caesar loved to keep the people whose body parts weren't gonna make it comforted. Many of the soldiers who survived were so thankful that Caesar saved their lives before that died. On Caesars off times Caesar would go hang out with the nurses to give them company and clear the station. 

Caesar and kids would also enjoy when Caesar could come and visit them in the little French village. Caesar was smaller than all the other red cross dogs which ment if he got wet and muddy he was not able to help.

In the winter Caesar would have people put socks on his legs to stop his legs getting cold and his paws cracking. Caesar could recognise people from his smell and it got so strong he started making connections with lots of people. Caesar and the soldiers looked hard to find wounded soldiers day and night.

Caesar worked one night and the moon went very bright which was not good because he could be seen by the snipers. Caesar was not found after that. He was dead, he had been shot in the stomach. Before he was shot he tried to save a person who didn't end up surviving. Caesar had been buried with the person he was trying to save
